PHILLIPA DEAN is a highly sought-after inspirational and transformational speaker, personal

development teacher, and therapist known for her civic volunteer work.

Blossoming from humble beginnings on the beautiful Bahamas Islands, Phillipa began her

professional career, as an educator. Her 12 years spent as a teacher proved to be the

stepping stone in cementing her passion for outreach and personal development. It was

through her experiences as a teacher that she became aware of the social ills plaguing young adults and the hindrance to their overall wellbeing.

Fueled by this experience, Phillipa earned her Master’s Degree in Forensic Psychology, resulting in making a greater impact on the lives of people in a more socialized, direct, and intimate manner.  She became a member of both the American and Bahamas Psychological Associations, as well as a member of the International Association of Correctional Psychology.

Phillipa fell in love with the art of public speaking during her formative high school years. She discovered that her experiences as a teacher enabled her to build upon her innate ability to connect with her audience profoundly. Coupled with her naturally bubbly personality and passion for community above self, she began her foray into speaking. She has since been an invited speaker appearing before live audiences, and on national television, and radio.

The desire to make a difference in the lives of people drove Phillipa to become actively involved in civic and non-profit community work. She decided to lend her voice and professionally developed skills to The Bahamas Crisis Center, becoming a volunteer trauma counselor and advocate for the rights of women and girls. Through her volunteer work, she founded The Dignified Girl Project – a registered non-profit organization that has provided more than 20,000 units of new undergarments and hygiene products to child and adolescent females throughout The Bahamas and South Africa. Phillipa is also the founder and host of the annual My Period My Pride menstrual health education and management seminar.

Currently, Phillipa enjoys crafting unique and engaging experiences for her audience using advanced storytelling skills. Her speeches, online courses, and programs help people learn how to effectively cope with life's challenges and empower them to get the most out of their time, and abilities to create meaningful life, relationships, and memories they deserve.

She is genuinely an influence and a positive catalyst for change. Hence, it was quite fitting Phillipa received the honorary title of Teacher of The Year title, an honorary mention in the Character Day Bahamas heroes award, and was nominated as a candidate for the “Top 48 Millennials of 2021”.

Through the lens of her life experiences, love of travel, and professional exposures, Phillipa has authored two books: For the Broken, and Thoughts: The Fruit of Experience. Phillipa attributes her accomplishments thus far to her passion, innate drive, God-given talent, and strong support system.

"The greatest desire one could seek to achieve is to have one’s actions

outrun their words”. -Phillipa Dean
